Microsoft Visual Studio offers computer programmers the ability to create software packages in Visual Basic, C #, C and C ++ programming languages. Each language offers its own libraries and code samples for use. Visual Studio specific syntax errors for each language once the Visual Studio developer environment is configured to create a computer code in one of the languages given are captured. Using Visual Studio for C ++ is a matter of setting environment Visual C ++ Developer Studio to use as the default language for the project you’re working. Instructions
- Open Visual Studio.NET.
- Create a new project by clicking on “Create” next to the word “project” in the top left of the screen. You can also click on “File” and then “Create” and then “New Project” to perform the same task. A new window will open allowing you to choose the type of project you want to create.
- Locate the panel on the left of the new window. Click “Visual C ++.” This opens a list beneath it.
- Click on the line labeled “CLR”, navigating the right side of the window and click on the icon “Windows Forms Application”.
- Type the name of your new project in the “Name” field below the two panels. If you are creating the same project with different programming languages with Visual Studio, then consider naming each of its projects to include language that created it. For example, “TicTacToeCSharp” or “TicTacToeVisualBasic” or “TicTacToeCPlusPlus.”
- Click “OK”.

If a project is created in Visual Studio with the language “C ++”, create another in the “C #” language, and reopen the project “C ++” after creating the “C #” program, Visual Studio will attempt to convert your “C ++” project in a format “C #” and syntax. This will produce errors everywhere. To avoid this, go through the steps to open a new project and choose “C ++” option so you can work properly with the code. Once you have chosen the correct language setting, save the newly created as “Delete” as a reminder to yourself project, it is a blank project can be discarded later.
