Things to Do in Southampton

Explore the Tudor House and Garden – This is the oldest museum in Southampton, with the building itself dating back to the late 13th or early 14th Century. It didn’t become a museum until 1912, and as you can imagine in a building of this age, it has a lot of history.

You can also explore the beautiful gardens that have been recreated based on how they may have been during the Tudor period.

Learn to Sail – Being located on the coast means that Southampton has always been a seafaring city, and it is a great place to base yourself if you want to do a course like this RYA powerboat level 2 course https://www.solentboattraining.co.uk/rya-powerboat-courses/level-2

You can easily sail from Southampton over to the beautiful Isle of Wight too.

Visit the SeaCity Museum – Learn about the history of the city of Southampton and the sea at the SeaCity museum. Of course, the departure of the most famous doomed ship in the world was from here, so you can see the Titanic exhibit at the museum, as well as other exhibitions about local history.

Get Close to Nature – Head to the common, a special place that is a designated site of special scientific interest and a huge green area right in the city. Whether you want to enjoy a picnic on a summer’s day, or you are a keen birdwatcher, this is a great place to get to with ease to get away from the hustle and bustle.
