Creating External Shade Summer 2020

The end of this year is looming, the days are getting shorter and we look forward to the sunnier climates of next summer and (touch wood!) the weather going to be better then now.  After a long grey winter and a typically showery April to come, everyone is looking forward to some warmth and sunshine at last. But, as typical Brits, we can’t help but battle with the weather, and with the cold of the winter now we struggle as much as we do when it comes to the sun. We tend to run for some cooling shade.

Staying Cool in the Sun

You know how it is. You’re spending a beautiful sunny weekend relaxing in the garden, with a glass of something refreshing to sip in the heat of the noonday sun. There’s not a cloud in the sky, and the birds are singing in the trees. But sometimes, despite all of this perfection, you just need somewhere to retreat and cool down a little. You could look at  Brise Soleil provided by companies like aluminiumsystems which allows for solar shading in businesses and homes.
In fact, charities and health organisations including the NHS recommend that we all spend time in the shade during the middle of the day to avoid overheating, dehydration and damage to our skin. But what if you don’t want to have to go inside when the weather is nice? Surely we get few enough sunny days without spending those we do get indoors….

Outdoor Shade

One answer is an outdoor shade such as a tensile structure or canopy. Tensile structures allow you to seek shelter in the great outdoors, remaining in your garden for as long as you want without worrying about your health and without overheating. A tensile structure is an unusual but attractive solution to the problem, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful weather without having to retreat into your home to do so.

As well as offering protection from the heat of the sun, an outdoor shade can provide a retreat from any unexpected showers or blustery squalls. Because we all know that planning a garden party or BBQ is just asking for trouble in the weather department, a shade in your garden can offer the reassurance you need to invite everyone round for a summer get together without worrying too much about unexpected, un-forecast rain.

So whatever your motivation for protecting yourself from the ups and downs of the Great British weather system, there are numerous solutions that can offer shade, shelter and style that you need this summer.
