Some have commented that cats and other animals can sense or understand things. Well it is obvious that the cat hears the baby crying and the cat is not a wild stray cat to attack. Babies are cute by nature so that parents or others are compelled to help and take care if them. Some animals have been know to do this and another reason why so many like baby kittens due to how cute they are.  The cat understand it’s a baby and tries to calm the baby down with its soft paws. I obviously would not try it out or at least not without some extra precautions to make sure its safe. Maybe the parents of the baby did that first which is why they went to their video camera instead of them trying to calm the baby down themselves.
